Brisbane Touch Football is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from suitably qualified and motivated individuals to be involved in the Brisbane Cobras representative program for the National Youth Championships (NYC) in 2026.

 

Opportunities are available for Coaches, Assistant Coaches, Managers, and Selectors who are eager to play a key role in elite representative touch football and support athletes at a national event.

 

About the Event

 

The National Youth Championships (NYC) is Touch Football Australia’s premier national youth representative event, bringing together Australia’s best emerging touch football talent. The NYC features selected teams from school, and regional pathways, competing in a high-performance national environment.


The event caters to eight youth divisions; Boys and Girls, and serves as a critical development and identification pathway within the representative touch football framework.


The 2026 DoorDash National Youth Championships (NYC) will take place at C.ex Coffs International Stadium, Coffs Harbour from Monday, 28 September to Thursday, 1 October.

 

Brisbane Cobras - Key Dates


  • EOI Support Staff Applications Close: Sunday, 11 May 2026 at 5:00pm

  • QTF Junior State Cup July 9th to 11th

  • Trial 1: Sunday, 19 July 2026

  • Trial 2: Sunday, 26 July 2026


Trial times and venues to be confirmed.

 

Available Roles

Each division within the Brisbane Cobras program will have the following support roles available:

  • Coach

  • Assistant Coach

  • Manager

  • Independent Selector (Cobras Trials only)

 

Divisions

The National Youth Championships (NYC) includes the following divisions. Player eligibility will be in accordance with Touch Football Australia general conditions of entry.

  • Boys U12 / Girls U12

  • Boys U14 / Girls U14

  • Boys U16 / Girls U16

  • Boys U18 / Girls U18

 

Coach / Manager Eligibility & Selection Process

All support appointments for the Brisbane Cobras representative program are made in line with Brisbane Touch Football’s policies and procedures.

 

Applicants must demonstrate:

  • Required accreditation and compliance standards

  • Appropriate behavioural expectations

  • A strong commitment to athlete development, team culture, and high-performance principles

 

Selections are facilitated by the Brisbane Touch Football Technical Panel (BTFTP) and formally ratified by the Brisbane Touch Football Board.

Accommodation & Travel

Please note that accommodation will not be provided for coaching and management staff. Instead a travel subsidy will be issued post event to assist cover costs associated with attending the event in Coffs Harbour.
