The Championships 2026

 

Brisbane Touch Football is now inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from experienced and passionate individuals to join the Brisbane Cobras representative program as a Coach, Assistant Coach, Manager, or Selector for The Championships in 2026.

 

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of elite touch football in Queensland and support athletes across a wide range of age divisions as they compete on the national stage.

 

About the Event

 

The Championships is Touch Football Australia’s premier representative event, bringing together the best players, coaches, and officials from across the country. In 2026, The Championships will be held in Coffs Harbour, NSW, from Wednesday 4 March to Saturday 7 March 2026.


 

Key Dates

  • EOI Support Staff Applications Close: Wednesday, 15 October 2025 at 5:00pm

  • Trial 1: Sunday 9 November 2025 | 8:00am – 2:00pm

  • Trial 2: Sunday 16 November 2025 | 8:00am – 2:00pm (Closed Trial - By Invitation Only)

  • Trial Location: J.F. O'Grady Memorial Park, 109 Brougham Street, Fairfield

  • Division-specific trial times will be confirmed via email to registered participants.

Each division will have the following support positions available:

  • Coach

  • Assistant Coach

  • Manager

  • Men’s Open (A & B)

  • Women’s Open (A & B)

  • Mixed Open (A & B)

  • Men’s 20s | Women’s 20s

  • Men’s 30s | Women’s 27s | Senior Mixed (30s) | Women’s 35s

  • Men’s 40s | Women’s 40s | Masters Mixed (40s)

  • Men’s 45s | Women’s 45s | Men’s 50s | Women’s 50s

  • Men’s 55s | Men’s 60s | Men’s 65s

  • All Abilities

 

Eligibility & Selection

All coaching and management appointments for the Brisbane Cobras representative program are made in accordance with Brisbane Touch Football’s established policies and procedures. Applicants must meet minimum accreditation, compliance, and behavioural standards, and demonstrate a commitment to athlete development, team culture, and high-performance coaching.

 

Selections are overseen by the Brisbane Touch Football Technical Panel (BTFTP) and ratified by the BTF Board. The process is designed to be transparent, merit-based, and aligned with the values of Brisbane Touch Football.

Accommodation & Travel

Please note that accommodation will not be provided for coaching and management staff. Instead a travel subsidy will be offered to assist cover costs associated with attending the event in Coffs Harbour.
